Hourly Rate: $21.17 - $27.86 per hour DOE, PLUS employer paid retirement, and generous benefits package, Job Classification N1
Hours: 40 hours per week
Workdays: 260 work calendar days (based on full work calendar year)

Overview: The job of “Groundskeeper”, is done for the purpose/s of maintaining attractive grounds area/s; ensuring the availability of required equipment; maintaining grounds for assemblies and/or recreational activities; ensuring assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner.
Required:
- Ability drive and safely operate district vehicles and equipment
- Regular attendance
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Prior commercial and/or school setting job related experience.

Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities Required:
- Skillsto operate hand and power tools used in craft.
- Skill to use a gas power blower for parking lots.
- Adhereto safe work practices, establish priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Adjustto flexible assignments
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift a maximum of 75 pounds
- Abilityto push and pull a minimum of 75 pounds
- Abilities tosit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time and perform a variety of skilled tasks
- Significantphysical abilities include - lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling/stooping/ reaching/handling/repetitive tasks with limbs
- Must be able to talk, hear conversations and have near visual acuity and depth perception
Position Details
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains landscaping (e.g. lawns, shrubbery, planted areas, irrigation, fences, playgrounds, etc.) for the purpose of preserving grounds in a healthy, attractive and safe condition.
- Maintainsground keeping equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition.
- Communicatesto Supervisor ground issues that need to be addressed (sidewalks, trees, drainage issues, gutters, downspouts, equipment repairs or needs, etc.)
- Transportsvarious items (e.g. equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of providing materials at job site as required to complete tasks.
Other Job Functions:
- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Requests materials, supplies and equipment for the purpose of ensuring that adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner.
License, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
- Valid Class Driver’s License and evidence of insurability
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance (cost to the employee: $12.50 for fingerprints at the time of registration;
$66.00 for criminal background check will be paid through a one-time payroll deduction)
